Children's Ministry:

The B.I.K.E. Path

Summer is approaching quickly and we are planning a fun, hands-on, inter-active program for kids. This can be accomplished when parents and other people who love and care for kids get involved. It's a fact that we grow more when we serve; and in serving children we learn humility and sacrifice. Isn't that just like Jesus? If you like to sing, tell stories, act, do crafts, teach or simply smile and welcome people to The B.I.K.E. Path, then we have a place for YOU! If you can cut up celery, or make a snack of cheese and crackers, hooray! Come join us!

The training set for May 22 has been canceled. If you would like to serve in this ministry, please call the church at 544-6154.

"Promotion Sunday" for kids K-6 will be on Sunday, June 6, 2010. Three year-olds will be promoted to The B.I.K.E. Path on Sunday, June 13th.

 "The B.I.K.E. Path"

Believe that Jesus is Lord * "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" John 14:6

Invite others to church * "Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matthew 28:19-20

Know that God loves you * "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16

Equip yourself to be strong * "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes." Ephesians 6:11

At Parkhill we believe children are a gift from God and as such should be cared for and equipped with the necessary tools that prepare them for the plan God has for their lives. Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, children will be given a strong spiritual foundation that fosters a Biblical worldview and the belief that no matter what happens in their lives, they will always have their faith, hope and the love of Jesus Christ to carry them through. Our vision is to join with parents, working together in their children’s spiritual upbringing and to give their children the best possible foundation of faith on which to build their lives.

Stay tuned for The B.I.K.E. Path summer neighborhood kids' activities!

 Parent Alert!

Dads & Moms we want to make you aware of a program that can be used during the Summer.
As a family, you can take up the TruthScripts challenge! When most Awana programs break for the summer, your family can continue to take God's Word to heart! Memorizing a short passage of Scripture can bring your family together and encourage spiritual conversations.
Please visit   http://www.awana.org/truthscripts/ for more information. Follow these 3 easy steps:
Commit to memorizing a TruthScripts passage as a family over the summer or any time of the year that works best for you.
Select a Scripture passage. We suggest you begin with Psalm 1 (other passages in the TruthScripts program include Psalm 23; Psalm 78:1-8 and Romans 8:28-39).
Set a goal. Establish a completion date and communicate how you will award each other for hard work! Click on Resources and Awards to download helpful resources such as bookmarks, flash cards, MP3 recordings, etc.
Begin to practice together and make sure to celebrate each other's accomplishment by scheduling a family activity such as dinner out or a trip to the bowling alley!
